Why's a Core 2 Duo "inferior" to an older AMD architecture?

Because those comparisons are between the High end C2D versus the athlon FX 62, which is essentially identical to the Windsor Athlon X2 5200 that I suggested. He is getting a low end conroe model, and he is paying $100 more for it. I have seen performance tests between his C2D and my Athlon X2 that say that the X2 outruns that model of C2D.
That's a good deal! But that's not my point, as far as performance, he can get essentially the same thing for $100 less. That's $100 that he can put into another area of his PC.
Ok I'm just gonna come out and say that I'm never going to use ATI or AMD. I've always gone with Nvidia and Intel for my Graphics and my CPU's. I'm a fanboy but I don't care.

Isn't the FX 62 the same as the X2 5600, not 5200?
I'm personally an AMD fanboy. Intel wastes money on commercials, I've never seen an AMD commercial, so I know my money isn't going to making commercials that don't make sense. I do have computers with Intel processors, but all new ones are going to be AMD (if I get my way).
Do you think investing in a Killer NIC Network Card would help a lot? I've read reviews of these things and people are saying that their FPS has gone up by almost 30 FPS and Ping has been cut in half to around 25 MS
That ridiculous, I might add that to my list of upgrades if you guys think it will help...

I think they are a waste of money, those results are not typical and with a good processor I think that integrated Ethernet will work fine (just like sound cards, who uses those any more?)
"Gaming" NIC cards are a gimmick. You're better off investing in a decent Netgear gigabit card if you go to LAN parties. (Even then you won't get gigabit speeds if the rest of the equipment is only 100-base.) Onboard 10/100 is fine for internet play, since your modem can only run at a fraction of those speeds.
"Adding FPS" with a network card is a load of BS. The only reason you may get a couple more frames per second is if you have a really crappy system and all of the networking is done in software. Other than that a NIC card isn't going to affect video.
Ok, well I wont bother buying one but I'm entered to Win the Killer NIC or K1 on the WoW Website. They have a trivia contest going and I pwned it. So if I get one for free I don't see the problem
Well, I guess I'll try and save about $900 and save the rest of my money next year.
It's only $180 more than that other bundle.
