So, does anyone know what the deal with the televised spelling bees is? Does Vegas run odds on them? Are there any doping-related scandals? I's gots to know!
Edit: My friend said that maybe they test for Alpha-Bits...

Are you meaning the him is wrong (it seems wrong and I can't think of an example where it isn't) or the me? The me can be right, I think the rule of thumb is to leave out the other person and see if I or me fits better.benol wrote:What people need is a grammar bee. I can't count how many times I've heard "him and me"

in the subject, him is wrong.vskid wrote:Are you meaning the him is wrong (it seems wrong and I can't think of an example where it isn't) or the me? Neeh Huuh, I'm British and supposivly posh and I don't say "insertname" and I. I admit I get peeved by bad grammer and spelling, but I don't go that far.timmeh87 wrote:heres the deal with that. ever since grade 1 i thought that saying "billy and I" sounded totally retarded. like what some stuck up British person would say.
so I've made an effort to always say "me and billy". it just makes more sense to me. if everyone starts doing it, in a generation that WILL be the right way to say it. it will become normal.

the me and billy thing I say too, even though I know it is wrong. I try not to, but it is imbedded into the wiring of my brain. Your assumption is prolly correct and it will become the right way to say it.timmeh87 wrote:heres the deal with that. ever since grade 1 i thought that saying "billy and I" sounded totally retarded. like what some stuck up British person would say.
