OMG National Spelling Bee with Color Commentary on ESPN

Post by Ecksem Diem »

This is the GREATEST! This kid comes up and the word he's given is "Yizkor", and after getting it right, one of the commentators goes, "Yizkor? Yes sir!" The chick that was up after him got the word "Shedu", and I was so pissed when neither of the commentators said "Shedu? She does!" after she got it right.

So, does anyone know what the deal with the televised spelling bees is? Does Vegas run odds on them? Are there any doping-related scandals? I's gots to know!

Edit: My friend said that maybe they test for Alpha-Bits...

Are you meaning the him is wrong (it seems wrong and I can't think of an example where it isn't) or the me? The me can be right, I think the rule of thumb is to leave out the other person and see if I or me fits better.

heres the deal with that. ever since grade 1 i thought that saying "billy and I" sounded totally retarded. like what some stuck up British person would say.

so I've made an effort to always say "me and billy". it just makes more sense to me. if everyone starts doing it, in a generation that WILL be the right way to say it. it will become normal.

dont just believe everything you are told. think for yourself. question authority.

the me and billy thing I say too, even though I know it is wrong. I try not to, but it is imbedded into the wiring of my brain. Your assumption is prolly correct and it will become the right way to say it.

As for spelling bee's, they are hilarious. This one Jamician girl yelled THANK YOU SIR after every question she asked, and she asked a hell of a lot of questions. Me and my friend did that for a solid week, saying that to each other and random people.
