The speed is still kinda slow for me, but it's not bothersome. The real annoyance for me is that the forum suddenly doesn't tell me whether there are new posts and whatnot. Is that because of the new server? I might try clearing my cache or something...

Do you mean that it doesn't say you've read something, but you have? I've gotten that a lot more recently, and it screws up the way I check the forum.
This morning and a few other times before then, the site seems to go down for 30 minutes to an hour.

Ben, from my experience, if you want people to donate there's gotta be a carrot. Exclusive forums, special title, getting the podcast early, sneak peaks at new projects, something like that. If you want people to give you there money, you need to make it worth their while.

Blacksix I don't need the donations, the ads are fine. Regardless I think they're a bit futile, like a clan that expects members to pitch in for their Counterstrike server, etc. It's like asking someone for gas money if you're driving 10 blocks to the store.

I think the server is much improved since they took care of that "rogue user", personally.

It just took me about a half hour to get to the forums, loading the main page and then the forum index. After that it's been fine though. This was also the first slowdown I noticed.

been that way for me the last few days. :evil:

@ben: probably too expensive but maybe you could put the forums and the main page on seperate servers.

Fourms = over
Slow = very yes

Sorry, too many Strong Bad emails.

The server's been slow as crap for a few hours now! I'm sorry but the new hosting plan sucks. In my opinion occasional outages on the cheaper plan is much better than this. :(

Agree'd times 100.

Ben; just set up a paypal link on the site and forums and just put "donations - we could always use them!" Personally, I know that at least 200 people would donate something.

I don't think you need the donations either, though. You're paying far to much for a crappy service (if it's still the one at iPowerWeb, the VPS).

Anyway to get the forums back to not running horribly, anyway is a good way.

Yeah it just took me about 2 hours or more to get back on the forums on my piece of junk computer.

When it konks out I usually have to reboot the server from my admin panel. But I probably don't spend as much time on my own site as all the collective forum users, so I take your word that it's slower.

I don't know what to do. It's a pain to switch. Any good server host suggestions?
