I've noticed a decrease in speed, but it seems to have gotten faster as the day goes on, but still not the old speed.

Everything seems about the same, but when I click "Post Reply" on a thread, it takes awhile to load that. :?

Up until a minute ago it was [bum]-slow. Firefox sat here for 5 minutes before it said the connection was reset while the page was loading.

Honestly I'd rather put up with the server crapping out every so often than nearly every day. :(

What a pain... just got off the phone with my 4th or so call to tech support in the last week.

They checked the shared server and ironically a user on there is using far too much of the system resources, like 80%. Much like the reason I had to move up, but apparently this guy has been doing it for a while. Thus I had to ask "why did I get busted so quick last week and this guy has lingered?" Ug.

SO apparently they're gonna suspend him and free up the server which should, in theory, get things working the way they should.

Let's see if things start speeding up tonight... I sure hope so!

I think they stuck Ben on the " 'low' mileage" server.

The old plan choked when a big new project was announced on news sites, but at least it was fast and reliable. :(

NEW SERVER = MADE OF SLOW

Hate to say it, but the old plan seemed to work out better. Sorry. :(

How are the speeds today? Forums seem good, main Wordpress a bit wanky but actually not much slower than your typical blog as you wait for everything to load in (links and off-site photos)

-Ben

PS: Screw the donation idea, nobody would do it. Last time we tried that I think it raised $15 bucks. Just click the ads if you need parts and call it a day.

I'm fine here, however, I am running at school on a massive T1/DS3 server

*EDIT*
Alirght I take some of that back, posting has slowed down, but page viewing is fine
I refuse to dignify myself with an intelligent and witty signature

How about we make it like a torrent? Give everyone a piece of the site with duplicates and that. I think that would just make it slower (if its even possible), but then everyone would share the load.

And for donations, sell shirts or something, money and advertising.
