If you have a decent-size USB drive you could go download the file at the library... they usually have broadband.

Most of the good, big distributions are at least one CD big. (650-700 MB) Many are more than one CD, or even one DVD. (I think Fedora Core 5 is 4 gigs.)

Some major distros (like Ubuntu) let you order premade CDs with their system for free.

Why do you need linux? Why not Contiki? Its 1.44 MB! Get that and all of your questions will be solved!

If FiOS is available in your area, you should get it.

I wish I had that, I read about it in a magazine at the dentist office that said its up to 50Mbps, you can download a 9GB file in 17 minutes with optimum conditions.
