*raises hand* Another vote for ePSXe! It is THE PSX emulator... only one that really worked for me.

Oh, and Project64 is my N64 emulator of choice as well.

[lex luthor]WRONG![/lex luthor]

Emulators are legal. Homebrew ROMs are legal. Commercial ROMs are not. (A common misconception.)

Commercial aren't illegal if you make them yourself with your own games.

With that in mind, who doesn't download roms?

I just like my backups better.

I've had issues w/ SNES9X. Especially when running RoboTrek. (text sprites fail to draw on screen)

ZSNES is just *Perfect*!

NES - FCE Ultra
SNES - ZSNES(stable online FTW!!!)
Genesis - Gens and Kega Fusion are both solid
N64 - Project64(though i have some issues, but 64 emulation is tuff)
PS1- ePSXe if I want to pretty up some games(and have the plugins for it). Otherwise its pSX for compatibility(only emulator I've know of that runs Megaman Legends 2, and its self contained, all you need is the BIOS)
Arcade - MAME, or winkawaks(sp?) for CPS-2 games
GB/GBC/GBA - Visualboyadvance, everything else pails in comparison.
SNESp - 100%
Protable X - 15% - I need money :(

1964 is WAY better for N64 emulation than project64! It runs most everything perfectly.

Is downloading ROMs of games that your own illegal?

-Super
If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.

The whole subject of ROMs is always a little fuzzy in terms of legality. It's legal to download a ROM you don't own, as long as you delete it within 24 hours.

So you just have your ROMs delete automatically at midnight and re-download at 1 a.m. Keepin' it legal.

As far as I know, it's also legal to download ROMs of games you OWN and KEEP them indefinitely.

Edit:

Exactly. That's the problem I always saw with that rule...
