11.1V or 14.8V for Gamecube?

Is a battery of 11.1V enough rather than approximately 12V? If so, is this good?

In short I'm asking if it should approximately be 12V or not?

14.8 with a stepdown to twelvw = yes.

The regulator provides 1A current. Is it enough for gamecube and screen? I don't thinks so. Is there a regulator providing 2A current?

you don't need to covert it down...14.8V works fine, since it gets converted anyway (and the 14.8V works fine for sound).

if you for some reason wanted less battery life, you could use a 7812

.

Besides, a 11.1V Li-Ion pack may drop down to about 8.4V once drained... ('Zat about right? 2.8V per cell or so??? Just a thrown out number...)

single cell lithium batteries usually start at 3.7 full charge and go down to around 2.7V or 2.8V (can't remember). This is around when they're quite low on energy, anyway.....but yeah, a 14.8V battery in this case would be better, as you can drain the battery (by playing, of course

) before charging it again.

the charging strategy employed by most devices today is to cut them off at 3.0v, probably to try to save them from idiots who fully drain their battery every time and junk. and also, 2.8v is ok but then if you store it for a long time the protection might trip as the cells naturally continue discharging.

the 'elbow' is at or just before 3.0v, there is almost no power between 3.0v and 2.7v, so you might as well just stop at 3
