Wishing for Composite In....

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Post by jeffslot »

Hi guys,

Can you guys please give me your opinion if the below picture contains video composite in? I though that was VCC might stand for. Thanks.

The board that you're looking at appears (to me) to be the driver board for the backlight. However, if you have a multimeter you could just test for continuity between the positive input (that the part on the inside of the yellow RCA plug) of the composite video input on the other board in your pic. Chances are that the point you've circled is some kind of ground. Once again, that could be tested with a multimeter.

VCC is voltage, aka, power.

Labels to look for: C, Y/C, or CVBS

Oh, NOW you take a good picture. :P

Vcc=+5v

Is that an intec screen pad? Couldn't think of what else it looks to be.

Nah, this is a venturer portable dvd player. I took it apart because I was hoping it would be similar to the below post from Fluffy.

but it doesn't seem similar at all. Here are some more pictures of mine.
