Question about installing a new OS
Hello,
I got a new PC I will be using for a countertop arcade cabinet, it is an internet-cafe style PC, and I have a question. It has windows 2000 installed on it, and I want to get something else on it, but it has no CD drive, and Im not getting one just to install a new OS. Is there anyway I can get one? I have internet access on it.

You could borrow a CD drive from another computer...
I don't think there's any way to boot it off a disc image, so temporarily transplanting an optical drive from another PC is the easiest solution.

Yes you can boot from a floppy, but it won't do you any good if you have no CD drive to install Windows from.

Using either a DVD/CD-ROM that is USB, a USB hard drive, a USB flash drive, take your pick. Before you can even do this, check the BIOS and see if there is an option to boot via USB, if so move it to the top of the list.ganonbanned wrote:How would I do this?vb_master wrote:Boot over USB?
