I really dont expect them to make it to the stores I just want to add an element of compitition towards this whole homebrewed console wars craze. Beacuse I would acctually like to put my console to the test with others .. sooo think about it .. I think it would be fun.

hmm, I may be able to do the hardware for myself if the software became reality.

I have the choice of three bords, all are pretty small

1 Gigabyte PIII 668mhz 200mb Ram 20gb HDD 3xpci 1x agp
2 Dell PIII 1.0ghz 128mb ram 20gb HDD 2x PCI 1x agp
3 IBM/Gigabyte 666mhz, 64mb ram 20gb hdd 3x PCI

Mobo no.1 has no onboard graphics/sound but has a network card
2 has Onboard Video/Sound and networking
3 has onboard video and sound.

if the software became a reality i would put one together and put a PCI/agp Graphics card with Tv-Out

I think that games should be minimum 350mhz PII and run smoothly at 500mhz.

Omg, I just thought of a game. Sim Game Company. Like you have a game company, and you have to create game ideas, build studios, work on advertising, make a console, etc.

Just about all the major game reviewers have a joke about such games. One that comes to mind is Sim Sim, a simulation in which you have to create a simulation game.

I got the elecronics taken out of the computer, took me an hour. (Compaq HATES people opening their computers...) And its all aranged in a space saving manor. So far my prototype features an 8.44 gig hard drive, a cd drive (x16 i think) and a broadband modem. Will post pictures tomarow and I accept a console war simply because it might increase interest in our consoles.

So i say that we have that we have 6 months to complete a prototype console, and we will have to have a pannel of judges that woud be able to put are consoles against each other. and we are aloud a team as big as we want... do you agree with this ? they can be changed still there not set in stone yet .

Help! I was cleaning dust off of the motherboard, when I noticed that a fan was totally caked, so I took the fan off, and now it wont go back on.
:( It was on by four screws, and now it doesn't seem there's anything for it to screw into.

If we were to program our own OS, it would very well be a console.
If not, The the PS2 is Not more than a computer.
Anyone want to make a linux based OS that resembles something of a xbox 360 OS or ps2 os?

Edit : My fualt, sorry.
