Upgrade ram in psp, Theoretically?
I was wondering... theoretically, if you could just desolder the rom chip in the psp, get one with the same dimensions, but a bigger amount of ram?

What would be the point? You could develop software that could take advantage of it, but no one else would be able to use it...

If possible at all without special thousand dollar equiptment. Pretty much all the chips on the board use a BGA form factor (like a computer processor, except instead of having pins it has balls of solder on the bottom of the chip. Generally, very expensive to swap.Lucretius wrote:Not to mention the fact that trying to desolder that tiny, little bad boy would be a finster of a job...
I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...
