There are two types of Seagates.

That's the rubber jacketted one, which can be unlocked using your computer.

This one needs a serial programmer to unlock it.
ive unlocked a non-jacketed seagate HD and hotswaped it by leaving the xbox on for 10 mins and did a hotswap and it unlocked the drive, then i got a xbox linux ISO which was like 15 meg and used that to modify the contents of the drive.

well the first one was the first one i ever did and i was sort of... in cennars state of mind... :wink:. basically it was the time i learned that my flux conducts electricity.

the second one was a mystery, the same chip and bios i used every other time, i think i just flexed the board too much and broke some joints. that or static discharge.

The problem is that you don't have an EEPROM backup so even trying to do that is useless.
