I agree. there marketing plan isnt good, (the whole all people thing but expensive controllers)benheck wrote:You have to admit, with our podcast / next gen opinions, they're are least DIFFERENT from most sites on the internet.
We bag on the Wii because so many other sites praise it. SOMEBODY has to have a different opinion, and that's us. For every Ying there's a Yang. Or whatever.

Ben, I bet you could break through the line at best buy just by saying "I'M BEN HECKENDORN!" Heck, I would move.
>_> <_<
And, I think they brought out something i hadn't thought about in the Wii. Hardrive. I was always convinced it would have one. Maybe some extensive benheck style modding. >__> Although it does have a SD card port.

All I can say is that from my experience you will be very happy with your decision to purchase an Xbox 360 if that is the way you end up choosing to go.Kyosho wrote:Well Jones, I haven't watched the video you linked to, but I have watched the long-ass one at IGN and this one, plus some others I can't remember the location of. Between all these videos and your podcasts, I've decided not to get a Wii right away, if at all. I'm really not impressed enough yet. I don't have a 360, so I might just end up getting one of those this holiday season. Because I sure as hell know I'm not shelling out for a PS3. Partly because I have always hated the design of the dual-shock. And then of course because of the price.
This time last year, I figured I'd want a Revolution (heh) or PS3, but never a 360. It's funny how things can change.
The couple of complaints I had about it were fixed with the firmware update back in May/June. This being the numerous download issues and not being able to boot to the dashboard if there was a disc in the drive. All of those issues have now been resolved.
In addition, it has a lot of great games (which is the most important thing) between first party, third party, and even the Xbox Live Arcade.
If you end up picking one up, look me up online sometime. Maybe we can save World War II with Ben.

But will the Black Box be out in time for the holidays?CronoTriggerfan wrote:Funny as hell, guys!Nicely done, as usual. It will be interesting to see what console boasts top Christmas sales. *crowds chant* Black Box! Black Box!

Maybe Ben and I overlooked the sleeper pick in the next-gen derby!
jones is right. If you guys decide to get a 360, you will not be disappointed. It has lots of great games, and plenty more coming down the pipe. Just be careful when you play Oblivion. It cost me and the misses to have a couple of arguements.
I just wish the PS3 were cheaper, but given the fact that Sony is losing a lot of their exclusives, that point is moot. As far as Nintendo exclusives, well, I have a DS to meet some of that need. I used to look at Nintendo systems through the fuzzy haze of fanboyism, but when you look at it logically, ben and jones are right, although I wish you guys were wrong about the big N. I miss the glory days of the SNES.
Life is a lot like a video game without the extra lives and continues.

In all honesty, I wish I was wrong too. There were a lot of things to love about the NES and SNES respectively. Then there were only a couple of things to love about the N64 and Gamecube. Now with the Wii it seems like there will be very little to love. I will reserve final judgment until after I have played it a bit, but as of right now I'm not convinced.jgibson wrote:jones is right. I can see where you're coming from with Oblivion.
