Yes, what do YOU call "music"?

In my opinion, rap, hip-hop, emo junk, screaming, and any sort of death metal, heavy metal, etc is just noise.

Music is basically everything else besides sound effects and fingernails on a chalkboard.

I've got a decent record collection. Yes, record. As in "large vynl disc that spins around and around". You know, those things hip-hop people spin around to make noise? Damn kids, needing to explain what records are... don't know nothin'... *grumble grumble grumble*

Records: The only GOOD source of music! Although, if you're always working with digital computers, why bother with analouge music? I have tons of tapes from when computers used to need them for storage. Good source of party string now

Agreed, but with the exception of heavy metal (like Metallica, etc.)

you should come to my town, we have a massive local ska and punk scene

a lot of the bands i like you'll have never heard of, what with them mostly being semi local to my area, most of them will never make it big because of whats in the charts these days but i still get a kick out of seeing them live. Which is a bit depressing because in my opinion they're far better than anything that is being put forward as "new music"

Also we need more Metal

Extreme_Jesus do you remember Consumed? They were my favorite Brit Punk band but unfortunatly they broke up.

Records are awesome. My mother has a good sized stack of LPs that we listen to sometimes. And I've actually become so much into records in general (33s, 45, and 78s) that I'm starting a new business where I basically rip and restore people's records. (They ship the record, I clean the record, I play the record on a turntable hooked up to my PC while recording it, I remove static, clicks, pops, cracks, scratches, hum, rumble, ect, to make it sound almost CD quality, I divide the tracks, I burn the tracks on a CD, I print my logo, the artist, and the album name on the CD, I put the CD in a nice case, [not a slim jewel case] I put their clean record into a new, plastic sleeve [not a paper sleeve] to keep it clean, I ship it all back to them. Simple, no?

)

I already have a nice turntable, cartridge, and preamp, and I have a pair of Sony MDR7506 headphones on the way from zZounds now for good referencing. (My 2.1 PC speakers are kinda "bassey"... they're hardly what you would call "flat".)

Now all I need is the parts for my record cleaning machine, and an Epson Stylus Photo R220 printer to print on the CDs.

(And the record sleeves, CDs, and CD cases, but those go under supplies... not equipment.)
