It's all or nothing. You can't set it so people can just delete double posts. If we set it so users can delete posts, they can delete any post, or a whole thread if they started it.

Pros:
- Easier for mods because we won't have to delete the occasional posts

Cons:
- Doesn't stop people from wasting time and bandwidth on double posts in the first place
- People can delete evidence
- Entire discussions could be deleted after they're finished, even if they have useful information in them.

The cons outweigh the pros.

I knew you can't set it to where they can only delete double posts, but can't you set it so that you can delete posts only if nobody has posted after it? I saw a forum that was like that once... it might be the gamesx.com forums, or maybe the Electro-Tech-Online.com forums. This would eliminate your 2nd and 3rd cons... and I don't really understand your 1st con... :?

On the NeoFlash forum you can delete your posts and only your posts.

I think that even if deleting is enabled, it's only if you were the last person to post in the thread anyway. Even still, it literally takes 2 clicks to delete a post (one to delete, once to confirm)... not any trouble anyway

I'll be honest with you - I would have never guessed that.

I think that if I made a post, I should have the right to delete it.
I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

I vote that we should be able to delete a post if we created it. I'm sorry to say but since I left this past Christmas and came back. Man has everything change and sorry to say but for the worst.
