Why does this keep hapening

I have no _______ clue how I keep doing it..... Okay I took apart my friends computer so I could transfer a new motherboard into it but... It did not fit. So I put his computer back together and like in this
thread his computer ran, made noises (good ones) but did not get video signal. WTF is going on? Any dang way any help would be of use

What type of noises? Like beeps or the bootup sound?

If it's just beeps, check to see if your RAM is in right.

Did you touch the metal connectors with your bare hands? You very well could of zapped the card with static electricity, if you didn't take any measures to prevent it.

Surely he should know the importance of grounding himself around static sensitive equiptment! I have taken apart plenty a pc and its not really a problem over here as UK plugs have a ground wire so you just leave it plugged in but powered off and then is fine but I occasionally touch something to ground myself just incase.

well, I feel prety dang stupid right now... All of my computers are working, one of them had the RAM in backwards, the other had the CPU not in all the way, and the last one.... well I dont know what was wrong with it but it works now
