Open the door on the front, slide the cartridge in connecter-end forst and lavbel side up, then push it down and the cartridge assembly will clikc into place.MESAJARJARBINKS wrote:How do you insert the cartridge?
It means there's a general error reading the cartridge. Clean the cartridge and the connector inside the NES with rubbing alcohol. (Open the NES to clean it easier). If that doesn't work, take a safety pin and carefully bend up the pins on the cart connector. You will need to open the NES to do this (duh). If that doesn't work, search benheck.com for Ben's "super" NES mod to find out how to disable the lockout chip, which can sometimes cause this problem. There's also information on fiing up the cart slot in the book.what does a blinking red light mean?
The power adapter that plugs into the wall, or the small grey box? There should only be one plug on the end of the power adapter if it is an original Nintendo unit. Post a picture. The power cord ends in two wires...one plugs into nes the other doesnt.
What do i do?

It's gonna blink if there's no cartridge in it (which I bet is the case, especially after seeing your last question...)

WELL this is a Bittersweet momment...mostly sweet.Kurt_ wrote:I've taken apart a few NES's (2 to be exact) and if you screw some of the screws on too tight, it doesn't allow you to put the cartridge in properly, or in some cases, at all. If you bought it used this could very well be the case. Take it apart and unscrew everything around the cartridge-ish area and try to put a game in.
Ya, I just put my NES together after i pushed the pins on the connector more tightly together. It's a bit tricky to get the cartridge to lock when you push it down, but for now it's working for me pretty good.Kurt_ wrote:I've taken apart a few NES's (2 to be exact) and if you screw some of the screws on too tight, it doesn't allow you to put the cartridge in properly, or in some cases, at all.
