Composite vs. RGB (with PICTURES) Pictures now links.
- Well personally I don't notice a difference.
- My camera isn't too great with motion either, but I got the best I could.
- This is a direct comparison between the RGB and COMPOSITE.
(I don't think the RGB photo's turned out so great. I'll try to get better ones.)
(Perhaps this should be stickied somewhere just for reference? Just a thought...)
COMPOSITE:

On the composite image the red doesn't fill in as well. (See the I in "MARIO")
It fills in better with RGB, which is nearly pixel-perfect.
(better colors, sharper picture, more detail...)
I favor RGB, and if anyone can figure out how to get RGB out of a PSone and
nto an Intec screenpad (think Hip Gear) I want to know how.
Besides with composite you get the infamous red-bleed and dot-crawl...

Yeah, I'm sitting here looking at my SNESp wired in composite and comparing it to the pic, it's clear to see that Composite is at an angle in that picture, becuase I can't see any difference now, with the exception of a tad bit richer color. Again, RGB pays off for 3D.
As for LEDs, a lot of people have mentioned super-bright, frosted LEDs. Supposedly, the frosted-ness distributes the light better than a normal LED so you don't get that "blotch" of light in the corner. And the super-bright part.....well, self-explanatory

This is the topic I was trying to find:

and these would be the LED's:
The lights are off in that picture...are they still significantly better than the ones I have?

thought i put the link for the led's in my last post... here it is:

btw, you can order a psone screen from ebgames.com it's about $29 plus shipping (1 day overnight is $10, so looking at $40 in all on that)
BTW, the viewing angle on these is 30 degrees as well
They are good, but pricey, the 6 I bought were about $10 + S/H. They seem to be based in North or South Carolina. If you live in the UK, go for www.ultraleds.co.uk. They have 10,000mcd ones for less than these, plus they have the same viewing angle!
Another advantage to the LED mod is that it makes the screen viewable by a camera, something that was a problem with the original cathode tube.
