WTTF or buy a 7808 regulator.

Post by jeffslot »

Hi guys,

I'm working on a project that requires one of these. I can't seem to find them at radioshack anymore & don't want to pay so much for one from digikey. Anyone have one that they would trade or sell to me relatively cheap. THanks.

Hi guys,

Skyone was kind enough to send one of these to me in the mail, but when I got his letter there was a 7808 sized hole in the letter & no 7808. Can anyone else help me out? I'm in desperate need of a 7808 (It would be doubley great if somone has 2 & can send one to eastsider_1 also). Thanks

Do you have any 7805's laying around? I can show you how to rig up two resistors on its leads so you get 8v output voltage.

If not, I still have a 7808 here I can send. I probably won't be able to get it out today, but I'll try.

Yup, I've got a spare 7805. I'd love to learn how to do that Marshall - thanks.

(did you get the l64 back yet?)

Looks like you just need a 470 ohm resistor for R1 and a 220 ohm for R2. Just build it according to the diagram.

I haven't got the l64 back yet, but it'll probably come this evening.

Wow, thanks marshallh.

If I'm unable to acquire a 7808, I will have to attempt to build that. Hopefully I won't have to. I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible.

Thank you.
