I tried cleaning with isopropyl alchohol and it still doesn't work

edit: looked at how to disable the lockout chip. So basically what I do is I pry pin 4 off the circuit board then ree-wiree it to ground?

There is no need to bring PIN4 of the NES10 to ground. This is not valuable copyrighted information, this is common knowledge. It is freely available online at sites not affiliated with Ben Heckendorn. On a side note, you can view the entire Ben book on Amazon if you want. Just search by page number, it's all there. Page 126 is pretty good. The amazing paperclip trick involves bending the pins that you can see on the ZIF72 connector so they make better contact with the cart. You can figure it out.

Use the Amazon link above. Start with page 118 and continue until you are finished learning. Then do what you have to do to fix your NES. Ignore the part where it encourages you to attach PIN4 of the NES10 to ground, that is a waste of time.

Personally, I would just get ben's book. It's amazing, tells you everything you need to know. In fact, it has a project for the NES that DOESN'T use a NOAC.
