No nerves, no central brain, no conscious thought = no feeling.
Krepticor wrote:well if you think about it...it is commercial capatilism, can't afford the best conditions,

That is why I plan to raise my own stock when I live on my own, that way I know whta they eat, how they were treated and how they were butchered

Meat to me is not that big...but I do like it

Just remember that a single commercial cow is enough meat to feed a family of four for a month, also Americans need to eat more fish, like tuna

I mean look at aging people in America and then look at those in Japan

HUGE DIFFERENCE!
What a grand idea, you care if I adopt it?

But it's alive. The point is you are killing something that is living.

Wow. Poor things. :(

I like to think of the end as "the end of their suffering". Sort of a positive spin on it. (however small it may be)

I suppose fish would indeed be a viable solution, or at least reduce the amount of slaughtered animals. However, an increase in the market for fish would put a strain on the other meat industries, which would have to further cut costs, and therefor put animals through more pain than previously.

The nice thing about fish is that sniper_spike's equation does not apply to them. Fish have nerves and a brain, but their brain is far to primative to contemplate 'pain' the way a cow might. To a fish, 'pain' exists only as a signal to the brain that damage is occuring.

To solve this problem, I will create a company called Econofood Incorporated, which will reprocess dirt and chinese newspaper into satisfying meat substitutes.

Its because people in the US are all fat (not me, though) because they eat too much and blame McDonalds for getting them fat.

Here's the deal. Human beings are biologically omnivores. We can eat both veggies and animals. We have canine teeth for pete's sake how more obvious can you be. We eat meat, we are supposed to eat meat and on top of it all, vegitarians are always sick because their bodies are not getting the things they need from broccoli. All those stinking PETA people who talk about pet ownership being animal slavery are just idiots and need to be kept in asylums for their own safty before they get eaten by a carnivorus rabbit.

That's like saying "You've got to admit it was really stupid when it said some white people don't like black people, well duh, isn't that why some people have black slaves and some don't have any?"
Just because someone doesn't favour one group of animals doesn't mean they can abuse and torture them. They deserve some respect.

To a certain extent, yes. Outright cruelty is, certainly, wrong, but animals aren't our equals. Other human beings obviously are, so slavery can't really be compared with animal cruelty, because animals aren't our equals. Remember that while these animals suffer, for our needs, there are still numerous humans living in poor conditions as well. Is it not more important to help them first, instead of animals?
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Your right I took it out of context, and your completely right about worrying about other humans first, but animals still shouldn't be ignored--just bringing their conditions to light.

But to get anything done we first have to overcome human selfishness, governments and corportations could afford to help the starving etc, they just don't want to.

Communism\Socialism doesn't sound like such a bad idea... If it could be achieved without crooked rulers, and without making EVERYBODY poor.

i sorrta see your point, but am i the only one who gets any fun out of putting firecrackers in a gopher hole..... anyway when the video shows the running of the bulls in the very begining i think the bulls plow down enough humans in the process. I think were justified :D

Voice your opinion, dont force it on people.
