I'm pretty sure that the regulator, inductor, and capacitors shown are all used to step down the volts (am i right?). Except for that little chip below the inductor. No idea what that is. Any way, I'm using a 9.6 v battery and the screen is running fine. Now i've herd that the regulator is only 30% effective, while a dc-dc converter is 90% effective. would i be able to replace the regulator with a dc-dc converter to make it more energy efficiant? Or do you think i'd be ok putting the 9.6 directly to the screen, or is that too risky?
