Superjoy III (red) no sound

Post by vb_master »

I recently bought a Superjoy III (red) from a guy at AtariAge, he says that it has no sound. What could be the problem with it, or can I get sound off the board when I start making my portable, and how can I fix it? It has a Famicom port, and built in games.

sweet! I wouldn't mind getting some when you're done. :) I was going to buy a copy of Sonic or Madden or some cheap crap and build one into it by just screwing in the connector to the top and soldering wires down to the Genesis pins. But if you're making a board for them, then all the better. Will you be making them with a place to connect the reset button on the circuit too? (or does the circuit you're using not include that?)
I'll probably want some NES->Famicom adapters too, if you're selling them cheaper than others.

Wow, you make anything out of a toaster, don't you? I'm impressed :)
I'm wondering what the IC is on the Tototek version of the SMS-Genesis adapter. Maybe something to do with playing Mark III games? *shrug*

hmm... I was thinking of doing that, but I was going to use a toaster oven I have laying around :)
Also, what kind of solder are you using, paste solder or solder tabs?

I think everyone said what could be said- sound comes directly from the NOAC. Connect the pin to a sound output and it should work. If it doesn't, the NOAC is defective or broken. Simple as that.
