I'm just going to keep my battery pack, now that I found out I could charge it with 12v.
Do the N64 and unmodded screen use more than 2 amps? I hooked them both up to a 7.5v 2 amp power adapter w/ sm64 in and the sm64 logo would appear and then mario's face, and then it would reset and happen again. This didn't happen though when I uplugged the backlight.
A few basic questions from a potential portable N64 maker

It does actually affect the brightness/tint of the video signal. I don't know why it was designed to do this (only CCFL adjusting was needed in the orignal application.)anotherperson wrote:If the brightness buttons on the PSOne screen control the voltage going to the CCFL (I assume this because the frequency of the noise coming from the transformer changes with varying brightness) then why do I see so many LED modded screens in cases that still show the brightness buttons? It would have no effect on the LEDs
