you poor child street fighter is one helluva fighting game that pretty much started it all

It's like, the original fighting game -- every other fighting game (except for Yie Ar Kung Fu) has ripped it off.
I have some extra copies of it for various consoles...

I dunno about streetfighter... Fatal Fury was made at the same time (maybe even sooner).

Well, a) Fatal Fury was pretty similar to Street Fighter 1 (few playable characters, etc). Fatal Fury 2 was similar to SF2, and I believe you could be right about Fatal Fury coming out before SF2 (although it was close)... SF2 came out way before Fatal Fury 2. And all of a sudden Mai Shiranui shows up, because it was found out as a result of SF2 that Asian women are hot.
