Ok the Xbox games are DVDs they are not propriatary. Smallest hard drive over 50 gigs to my knowlege would be 60. The ethernet is intergrated into the motherboard so I dont think it would make sence to remove it.

Well, if any system can use a laptop screen, the XBox probably could. It IS based directly on a P-III system...essentially a PC with special software. Maybe it could be hacked...
Warranty-Voiding fun!

The Xbox does output VGA but as we have discussed before here you cant reliably remove the controller card from a laptop as it is often integraded in to th motherboard. I'd say as the Xbox uses 12v anyways just by like a 7 or 9 inch LCD screen and you'll be set.

Has anyone seen a 9 or 10 inch screen that will run on 12 volts?

Maybe the LCD tvs, just about everything electronic runs on DC. So remove the RF module (if there is one) and the AC-DC converter thats inside the case.[/quote]

Whats with the AC thing... What needs AC power? Also AC-DC converters are bridge rectifiers right?

yeah, bridge rectifiers are ac-dc converters. The nes actually uses ac power I think.

k why not do a proper battry with an atx dc-dc and a psone screen.. that seams to be the nbest start.. you could use a few of laptop battries. you will have to do some serious power saving mods to it.. but i see it more and more likely (just no lap top screens and case swaps, it makes things more and more out there every time i here it.)

For batteries I am going to use these

http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?P ... ProdID=555

They're 7000 mAh batteries. I could maybe use one but I'll probably have to use 2. And I am going to do a case swap so forget you.
