it's a rubber pad..mine's pretty worn down now (doesn't click like before) so it's probably a rubber pad. might still be dirty under there, or a trace is broken :|. best thing to do is just open it up, troubleshoot, and keep trying to fix it 'till it's...fixed :P.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Well I'll open up the sucker and see what's wrong. But I should also spray paint this one and then buy a DS Lite.

Heh, bic... Your disclaimer on that image did not escape my glance :P
But I'm sure Eric could photoshop it out too easily.

Anyway, the switches inside the DS aren't the normal tact switces you're used to. Digikey most likely has them though.

If they are rubber pads, and they have worn out, all you have to do is get conductive tape and put some on it.

Why don't you buy a new one? Maybe a Lite? Go to Gamestop, sell your broken one but don't tell them it's broken! It'll sell for about 50 US dollars. I know it's not a lot.
(Which is why I never sold mine. I wanted a PSP but it was only because sony had my mind in theire control.)

Or paint it, make it look cool and trade with a friend for a regualar one!

I traded in my broken PS2 once and the guy was too lazy to check it because he had to check someone else's PS2 before me. :D They might check your DS, but I doubt it.
