Hip gear audio amp-Simple hookup

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Hip gear audio amp-Simple hookup

Post by bioniclebert »

OK, I've dissected my NES portable, and I've found the audio amp. There are 3 wires going into the section I have. Those three are Audio, Ground, and 5V. Hopefully When I get home I can further explain exacty where to hook this up, and include pictures.

Basically, all you do Is cut it off right after the audio Pot. Then COnnect the audio lines as normal (the red and white wires).

Then, Scrape/sand off Two leads near the pot. 1 is 5V, and the other is ground. I think I'l be able to explain this a bit better when I'm back.

By doing it this way, Its simple to connect, and it leaves the original audio pot and heaphone jack without a lot of rewiring.

Dang, I need a picture of the area of the audio amp.
If somebody could provide the picture I can show where to cut and rewire.

I can scan my Hip Gear adjust board later. Hopefully imageshack will allow me to upload it (it's a female of the dog species to me).

lol, after spending about 10 minutes scanning and resizing, I found a pic of the amp I used for my NESp. Is this pretty much what you did?

And here are the scans of the board.
