GC parts
I just opened up my gamecube and was wondering if anyone knew what the little spring like things on the memory card slots are for. They are silver and when screwed in they connect to the back of Gamecube's controller board in the front. Do i need them to play?

I've taken apart a gamecube battery, it isn't that heavy, it's roughly the same weight as 2 7.2 RC radioshack batteries, but these are much easier to recharge as they recharge via the gamecubes own power cable. Here a few photos of it..

Sorry about the pics being fuzzy..

Um...you're kinda wrong...
The battery does ATTACH to the base of the gamecube, but it doesn't mean that the CABLE DOES. As you can see in the pictures there is a cable, THAT connects into the gamecubes power slot, which then powers the whole thing up including the screen for 2 hours. Even if you take the circuits out of the case, the battery still works by plugging the cable into the power slot.
You can use any brand you want, but you have to be careful when taking it out, I took the circuits out by soldering the sides of the plastic very carefully and I didn't damage the circuits
. Remember to be careful here.

just got back from shopping for parts. I went to 4 Gamestop's, 2 EB-Games, a toys'r'us, a circuit city, and target and i couldn't find a screen or battery. I Guess i'll hust have to order it from Best Buy.com. the good thing is the shipping is fast and cheap. I'll post pictures next week, my GCp should be done by then.
By the way Harshboy, i was wondering where you but your L, R, and Z buttons on your portable
