that would work for light/soft alluminum like a heatsink but i'm talking about big heavy metal and i have no diamond blade drill bits
EDIT: i think i have a tool somewhere that does something like that, i'll be back in a bit with a pic of it cause i have no clue how to use it...

does anybody know if this tool would work or how to use it? if not, any other suggestions are welcome
does that tool have a hole in the front of it? It looks like a rivet tightener but i can't quite tell from the picture.

Yeah, that tool is a pop rivet gun... you drill a hole between two pieces of sheet metal. Put a rivet in the tool. put the other end in the two pieces of metal and squeze the handle and it rivets the two pieces together.
