No engadget! Their readers wouldn't care because of "*whine*it's not new and cutting edge!*whine*", just like the Colecop.
Hackaday and Joystiq!
Good job on getting that NES to work better! And it looks completely stock from the outside too! I like that because it fools people into believing "oh it's just another broken down POS Nintendo. I'd better get the hyperventilation kit ready.", but then you pop in some random cart you threw together with a Power Player cart and an internal fami-to-nintendo adapter and it works without blowing on it.
Here's what I want to do to an NES someday, after reading this:
-replace cart slot
-disable lockout chip
-overclock
-blue power LED
Congratulations, Ben! You are now one of the few people, if not the only person, in the US with an original NES that requires no excessive cleaning, has little if any blinking screens, semi-stereo sound, and all that with no cartridge jobs required!

Re: Ben's "Super" Nintendo
Do u get some sort of a prize for posting news somewhere that has nothing to do with u..? I'm sure if Ben wants to show off his stuff to people beyond his site he'd probably do it himself.. not that he needs the promos.. lots of people would have seen it here anyway, u posting it or not..Jeff wrote:Off to engadget and joystiq I go.

We still love you, G-force.
I think Ben's work is really commendable, I really like the cart slot that he did as well.
Oh, and I also agree with people's statements, in that every time something gets posted on engadget or the like, a group of noobs come in, without any regard for what we're all about. Its in the "Ben's project interrim" times that we get a small trickle of newbies, and most of them have great appreciation for what we do, and a real desire to do their own portables
