Good job on getting that NES to work better! And it looks completely stock from the outside too! I like that because it fools people into believing "oh it's just another broken down POS Nintendo. I'd better get the hyperventilation kit ready.", but then you pop in some random cart you threw together with a Power Player cart and an internal fami-to-nintendo adapter and it works without blowing on it.
Here's what I want to do to an NES someday, after reading this:
-replace cart slot
-disable lockout chip
-overclock
-blue power LED
Congratulations, Ben! You are now one of the few people, if not the only person, in the US with an original NES that requires no excessive cleaning, has little if any blinking screens, semi-stereo sound, and all that with no cartridge jobs required!

Do u get some sort of a prize for posting news somewhere that has nothing to do with u..? I think Ben's work is really commendable, I really like the cart slot that he did as well.
Oh, and I also agree with people's statements, in that every time something gets posted on engadget or the like, a group of noobs come in, without any regard for what we're all about. Its in the "Ben's project interrim" times that we get a small trickle of newbies, and most of them have great appreciation for what we do, and a real desire to do their own portables
