Ok, i just installed a new graphics card on my friends computer, and it works fine, just the Taskbar, ummm, how to say it, doesnt EXIST. Its not there! Cant press windows symbol on keyboard either, it doesnt work. Can anyone help me?

yeah, were using XP. The card is a GeFORCE MX 4000

go to display settings and try fooling around with the resolution bar...that should work...maybe not

thats not the porblem, i change the resolution and it still doesnt show

did you check the other 3 sides of your screen?

Try going to your task manager (Ctrl + Alt + delete) and going to the applications tab, then go new task and type in explorer. that may work because it works when ever mine goes away.

well, we just went back to the integrated, worked fine. Yeah, so its kinda weird.

Perhaps the screen is stretched to far down. Most monitors have that funcky menu button and an up/down or side/side button. You can use that to shift the actual size of the image on the monitor screen (as opposed to the resolution).

My LCD monitor has a self-adjust button, maybe press that if you have one?

If not, fiddle with the menu settings, you can change the sizing and stuff there.

Maybe the add-on adapter acted as a second screen, so the taskbar remained on your "primary" (integrated) adapter while the icons moved to the "secondary" (pci/agp) adapter because it had a screen attatched to it? I know on my laptop that happens...
