Crap on my screen.

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

what would you do in this situation.... Dude, in all black, long black hair, with claws on his knuckles, hiding in his trench coat, rocking back and fourth on the train, lauging menically saying "Take that you jumpy bastard! Ill show you where you can chuck that! HAH! Now what! Whos your daddy! WHOS YOUR DADDY!! Crap, im small, work on it... work on it.. almost there. YEAH! HUZZAH! You cant beat that, you cant beat it at ALL baby!"

I scare enough people playing SMB3, i dont need to give them any more reasons.

Hydrochloric acid, in large quantities. And make sure you do not wear a mask, or gloves. That'll remove the crap, the screen itself, the pcb, your fingers, etc... :lol:

i actually took a look at kurts screen yesterday..

the plastic window on the case is totally destroyed thanks to kurt. huuuge gouges in it. some of them almost right through.

the screen element itself has some sort of plasticy "sticker" on it thats sort of tinted grey. its torn in places, and kidna stretched in others. its not just surface scratches...

Is the plastic window seperable from the rest of the unit or is it attached in some way that it cannot be removed?


And what did I say about buffing? Oh yeah, its easy to damage the screen that way.

Sounds like the top polarizer, which is generally the layer that's under the anti-glare. If that's screwed up, there probably really isn't any way to fix it. You can try polishing out the surface scratches (using very fine polishing compound; do it by hand, not with a dremel). Just be careful that you don't polish it too much, otherwise it will be too thin to work properly.
