What's a good mac to start off with? I only used a mac like maybe once in my life...I definitely want to expand my knowledge with computers and I definitely wanna include apple into it. What's a good mac OS that I can use to mess with and get to know things? A good system to start off with as well?

The Mac Mini is generally considered the best Mac for converts due to its low price, good performance, and excellent software package.

The latest rumors are saying that the Intel-based Mac Mini will be debuting in February at Macworld San Francisco, possibly with PVR functionality and a built in iPod dock, and some other features.
In case that has any bearing on your decision.

I await the day that Apple becomes nothing more than another IBM PC-compatable windows-toting computer brand

You do know that M$ at one point had majority stock control over apple, right? They own a chunk of em' now cause of a bad deal back in the day... Why do you think there ate M$ apps on mac?

At one point M$ and apple teamed up. Apple handed over their Mac prototype to M$ so they can make some apps. M$ wound up stealing the whole OS interface, and sold it to IBM to put on their systems, knows to the world as Windows. But thats after they bought DOS from some no-name programmer for $50,000, rewrote the copyright, and sold it to IBM as well.

Watch a movie called Pirates of Silicon valley. It will tell the whole story. Its quite intresting to see how mental Steve Jobs was, and how HUGE of a scumbag Gates is. SCUMBAG!!!

I doubt Macs will ever ship with anything other than Mac OS. While there will probably be ways to install Windows once the switch to Intel happens, I doubt Apple will officially support it.

Yeah, that was just a joke ~_~

BTW, Intel stole the graphic user interface idea from Apple, AFTER Apple acquired that technology from Xerox.

I've seen Pirates of Silicon Valley also 8) God, Steve Jobs was such a PUNK!
