Does anyone know a mod for improving the extremely loose D-Pad on the Logitech Cordless Xbox Controller (see below)? It shifts around so much and makes for a very poor emulation experience . Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes, you can shine the light behind it but it tends to wash the colors out too much. daguuy is right...the LCD only looks good with the screen being lit from the front. very dissapointing

Double Bad News:
I got the EL panel and tested it behind the GBC LCD screen and it just isnt bright enough. I may have to pass on that idea.

I took the LCD screen apart already. There's no sticker or anything. What there was, was the foam backing and the metal cage around the screen. Took both off and you can shine a light right through it.

As for the inverter -- I'll have to look into getting a hold of a smaller one.

Well, we'll see what happens when I get the panel in 2-3 days. I have no clue how big the inverter is going to be...I'm hoping it's small enough to fit right behind the speaker where there is an open cavity in the casing. I'm sure I'll have to cut out some plastic to make it fit...but then it wouldn ...

Just took the entire GBC apart and seperated the LCD screen from it's metal casing and foam. Just ordered the EL panel as well so in a few days I should have it here and I'll begin the mod.

I'll keep you guys posted with pics as I begin assembling everything.

Well, this panel is made to be cut to whatever size you want so the size wouldnt be an issue.

My only concern is the power supply that they ship with the panel...i dont know if i would need to use that power supply and splice it in with the GBC power or if i could just connect the panel directly ...

Since there isn't much room inside of the Gameboy Color case, I was thinking about using an EL panel to light up the screen instead of LED's. They seem to be very bright and provides an even flow of light:

I'm also interested in adding white led's to my Gameboy Color for backlighting. Has anyone seen this mod anywhere on the net? You would think at least one person out there has done this.
