I've scrapped away to the copper part, but the solder still won't stick, and I'm afraid to scrape any deeper.
Anyway, here are the rest of my questions.
1. I've wired up the batteries to the protection circuit in what I assume is the correct way, but I'm not getting power.

Almost done
I have a fair amount of questions that need answering if I'm to finish my N64 soon. Any help is appreciated.
1.) Currently, my N64 controller is cut into three parts and I'm in the process of wiring them together. I've used a technique fairly successfully so far that involves drilling holes in the ...

N64p WIP, or rather, W almost IP
After failing to impress my friends with an overclocked and underclocked gameboy, I decided that I need to invest more time into better projects. So I decided to make an N64p. Mine is a touching story filled with epic plot twists and heavy emotion, I know. Anyway, I have until May 29 (last day of ...

Re: Gameboy pocket paintjob
It you're going to make the paint stick you shouldn't be using paint. A couple options: make new buttons in the right color plastic, either acrylic or mold some resin or something. Or you could run and get some vinyl dye, or some Krylon Fusion, those actually stain the plastic instead of simply ...

Gameboy pocket paintjob
The other day I embarked on the quest to turn my very first video game system, a red gameboy pocket, into a custom, aesthetically pleasing super cool thing. I had planned to paint the body black, and the buttons blue. I painted the body easily and without any problems. However, if I could say the ...

eurddrue: I've seen his lighting mod and plan on doing some sort of lighting mod eventually. As for your previous statements, I still play those games and I prefer the original gameboy to the GBC. I understand that the GBC is better specs wise, but I've always had a dislike for it.

As part of my WIP I want to both overclock and underclock my good ol' brick. While looking at the sticky for overclocking the GBA, I took notice of this picture:

Oh, I gotcha now. For batteries, you only need two for the game boy. If you use 4 as the calculator has them set up, theres a good chance they'd fry the game boy (they're in series, so 4x1.5v=6v).
So from what I understand, the only things used from the calc's board are the button contacts(that's ...

You're going to have to have two screens if you want it to have both, you can't hook both up to one of the screens. You could have the game boy screen on the back, but that would look suspicious. Is your friend's calculator really broken? If not, I'd find a broken one and put just the game boy in ...

Calculator gameboy.
Since I'm pretty much an unskilled newb when it comes to electronics, I decided that I should do some fairly simple projects to familiarize myself with modding. This kid in my physics class says that he's going to put a gameboy in a TI-8X(probably 84), so I told him I'd 1-up him and do it before he ...
