I personally think that the UP is now almost essential if you are going to buy the newer official firmware REQUIRED (the disc now checks the ram to see how much is used if its Custom firmware it uses more than official)
if the AM check doesnt pass the game will refuse to run.

I'm having a problem finding decent games for my psp i like rail shooters and my gamestop has a ton of psone games 5 for 5 bucks thing.
can anyone give me some suggestions? im more into the starfox style rail shooters not time crisis. oh and i already own omega boost.

It's possible, but there is really no point. You might as well just get a Pandora once it has an n64 emu. The thing is that using a small computer will be really expensive, power hungry, hot and heavy.
i have seen the pandora it is awesome but jebus the controller design is crap i would buy one ...

well now that i have my n64 and controller i need a psone screen or similar um the only thing im worried about now is cutting the controller and wiring oh and if i leave the the bottom shell on the mobo will that keep it grounded so it wont die?
oh and i have basic soldering skills is that enough ...

Also, Bacteria, you're really underestimating how good emulators are nowadays, P64 runs most of the games you throw at it near perfectly.

well shoot the only reason why im not doing it on a n64 board is because its too big and the games im running play pretty well (full speed minor graphical glitches) plus i killed my n64 trying to make a portable. it just died i tried turning it on but nuthin so I was thinking of is taking pda mother ...

i was thinking of creating a pseudo (?) n64 portable it functions like a normal touch screen tablet comp but there is a n64 controller functioning as a gamepad i will have pj64 or another great emulator on autorun when you login cool idea or impractical?????
