Yea i opened up my battery to start the process (model 110) and it doesn't have that massive board across the whole thing. Only a small board on top of the lipo pack. Maybe i just have a old battery?

Oh man, well its not supposed to be a transistor that you connect to the LEDs. Its supposed to be a 10 ohm resistor. I hope you didn't fry your LEDs. Take a closer look at the book and make sure all the connections are right.

Read the book completely. PSone screens do not need a switching regulator. They use a on board 7805 regulator(look in the section about LED modding the screen). You can input unregulated power to pin one on the front of the board using the following picture as a reference.

You could always do a fresh OS install and test it out on default settings to rule out any hardware issues. Honestly thats what i would do. It wont take long if you know how to do it and you will find out pretty quickly if software related or hardware related.
