snesp battery question
so in the book it says 6 AA batteries for the snes mini, which adds up to 8.4v when tested with my multimeter. would this hurt the screen that needs 7.4v? or will the voltage drop after in use? dont wanna fry anything
Depends on the screen you are using. If you are using a Psone screen it will be fine as long as you input the power at the right spot. This is because the Psone screen uses a 7805 regulator. 7805s need at least 7.5 volts to work, and can handle up to 35 volts maximum. However, higher voltages will cause the regulator to heat up very quickly. Which will then cause it to shut off due to the 7805s built in thermal protection. IF you are using the Psone screen, 9 volts should be fine. However, if your using a different screen make sure you know what voltages it uses and how to regulate it.
