basicly it goes from the batteries to a switch to the plug. the plug plugs into the n64 and the n64 will turn on. the screen will not turn on though. if i have to wire something to the 7808 regulator ...

no, only the part that connects it to the n64. its powered off batteries through it

no, the n64 will turn on with the 8AA batteries hooked up to it

if the 7808 is the 12 volt to 3 volt then yes, i connected it before it. The 12 volts it going into throught the n64 power adapter things that plugs into the back, ya know the ribbon cable connected to the plug.

I got my n64 hooked up to batteries, but now the screen wont turn on.
i think its under powered. do i use the 12 volt to 3 volt adapter?

Also, when i stripped the wires that lead to the plug, there were not 4 colored wires there, only 2 copper wires. Any help?

I stripped the cord on the n64 power adapter that comes with it. On one half of the cord it has a white line and on the other it doesn't.
