Question about power adapter that comes with n64

I stripped the cord on the n64 power adapter that comes with it. On one half of the cord it has a white line and on the other it doesn't. I was wondering which to connect the positive wire to and which to connect the negative to. Also, I looked at the doomportables battery page and thought about using a radioshack 8AA holder to power it. Any help or ideas are appreciated. Thanks for helping me.

um, are you talking about the cord that connects to an AC power outlet? if so, then you don't want to strip that......what exactly do you want to do?

Ya, thats the one. I want to make it so i can connect it to batteries. Or can i do that w/o the ac adapter?

why don't you just get a 12volt to 3 volt Dc-Dc adapter or watever iots called most of the N64mobile guides tell you how to hook it up

Yes. Usually called a discman adapter by the "electronics geniuses" (YEAH RIGHT!) at RS.

the guy at radioshack asked me what i was going to plug it into so he could match up the plugs, what am i going to plug it into anyway?

It doesn't matter. He was talking about the plug type, and you will cut that off.

One problem, mine has no fuse in it.

Also, when i stripped the wires that lead to the plug, there were not 4 colored wires there, only 2 copper wires. Any help?

Notice that he says take out the fuse and cut off the 2 extra wires. This means that you automatically get to skip 2 steps.

I got my n64 hooked up to batteries, but now the screen wont turn on.
i think its under powered. do i use the 12 volt to 3 volt adapter?

Where did you connect the screen to?
Better yet, what screen are you using?
