Question about power adapter that comes with n64

Are you sure you connected it before the 7808? Are you sure you are feeding 12V to the right wire.

if the 7808 is the 12 volt to 3 volt then yes, i connected it before it. The 12 volts it going into throught the n64 power adapter things that plugs into the back, ya know the ribbon cable connected to the plug.

No, 7808 is onboard regulator.

Are you saying that you aren't using batteries yet?

no, the n64 will turn on with the 8AA batteries hooked up to it

no, only the part that connects it to the n64. its powered off batteries through it

sorry, my camera doesnt have the best quality

basicly it goes from the batteries to a switch to the plug. the plug plugs into the n64 and the n64 will turn on. the screen will not turn on though. if i have to wire something to the 7808 regulator then what would i wire to it?

Your screen takes 12V. Straight to the batteries.

im thinking you dont quite understand basic electronics, you should test your whole setup on its designed power adapters, and slowing circuit by circuit work your way to battery power, that way you know exactly what is the problem, and if ur connecting 12v to a ps1 lcd, ur in trouble...., and the 3v adaptor is for the 3.3v input rail to the n64, since the n64 takes a input of 12ish and 3.3v, which the 3 volt will run fine in most cases

He said Intec PS2, not PS1, hence the reason I said 12V.
You're right though, he doesn't appear to have a lot of electronics experience.

Trebile, could you please make a concept schematic, because your camera is about as useless as mine, and that one pic is useless. Using multiple colours, show us how your wires connect between everything.
