extending volume buttons
i need to wire on new volume buttons because that's how my case is but it's hard to tell which traces/pins to solder to on the PSone screen board. it looks like Gamelver did it. which pins on the tact switches should i connect the new buttons to? i already tried looking for the traces they connect to but they're hard to find...

I'm lazy so instead of finding the trace, I just turn the volume up on the screen to maximum and solder a 50k variable resistor to the red wire going to the speaker and use that as the volume control.
I've often found if people spend less time worrying about what someone the other side of the world has posted on an internet forum and more time getting laid, they'll be a lot less tense.

Not really, if you're relocating the speaker you've got to run the wires to wherever you're putting the speaker so it makes perfect sense to add a 50K variable resistor while you're on.superdeformed wrote:That's more work than just trying to follow the trace. It'll also drain your battery faster than if you were to just use the volume control buttons...
It won't use more power. You're taking the resistance out of one part of the circuit (i.e. by turning the volume up loud) and then putting it back into another so it all works out the same. Ohm's law if you like.
