who got a psp for christmas/first night of hanakuh?

Post by gotchocolatemilk2 »

I certainly did. I got a shiny new psp and i am impressed with the beautifulness of the machine. It is the first handheld (that is non-portableized handheld) that didnt feel different from a home console. I must admit I am a little dissapointed with the anologue stick and on GTA:LC there are some framerate issues but I am overall delieghted. However, the main reason I made this thread was because I had read something about the newly realesed boot loader for firmware 2.0. That is good news for me because my psp came with version 2.0. I did hear that it wont run some homebrew. Does anyone know about what will and what wont run (I could sure use an snes emulator), and also what is some of the best homebrew for the psp.

My bro got a v1.52 and we couldn't get the SNES emu to run, so we just upgraded to 2.5 (or whatever the newest is). Totally worth it for the new webbrowser. Besides, everyone knows SNESps are the only way to play SNES games on the go

Wow.. You could have just did a quick digg on "PSP downgrader", you would have known this then:

Just to let you know Harshboy, GTA and most other newer games require firmware 2.0 or greater. So you can eather play newer PSP games, play homebrew or upgrade and downgrade everytime you want to play homebrew or a game. You can't do both at the same time.

Isn't there a firmware loader now that lets you try out different firmwares without flashing them?

There also is a version changer.

I figured there was some way to get it to work, but my brother didn't want to risk his PSP (despite me assuring him it wouldn't kill it). So I just let him upgrade. Thakns for the link though, now when I get mine I know what to do.

If you want to play homebrew...do a google search for Eboot 2.0 loader 0.9. It lets you play 1.0 firmware homebrew on your PSP firmware 2.0. It works, i tested it out with lots of stuff.

Couldn't you have a memory stick with the newest firmware then have a memeory stick with emulators and have both? I don't know (i don't own a PSP).
