how do i connect the hipgear volume to the gameboy volume
after i cut the hipgear controller bored off?
like what G-force did with his NES p0cket

Okay I will have a pic of what to do when I get the page up. But until then, mess with the multimeter and try to figure it out.
This should help you a bit, if you are looking at it from the side (the gameboy rotated 90 degress left) and face on, the pinout is like this:
(you will see 5 pins sticking up from the pot)
pin 1 is Ground, pin 2 is not used, pin 3 is audio in from the Hip Gear amp, pin 4 is audio out to the Hip Gear amp.
And then you just replace the Hip Gear sound pot with the GB one
