I figured I'd just start a topic for this, as I will have a lot of questions and pictures to post while working. I have acquired my PSone screen (and accidentally broken one of the wires that feeds the cathode tube, therefore I will be using my own variation of the LED mod, 6 30° 10,000 MCD white LEDs) and N64. I will be using the original heatsink, just bending it flat. Rewiring the expansion pak will be one of my main priorities in this project, as I want to play Majora's Mask when I am done.
I will also be rewiring the cartridge slot, though I would like some tips on that.
First pictures:
N64, sans case. Most of the stuff there has to go, notably the AV out (though it will be cut down and rewired somewhere else), the controller ports (they'll just be moved and cut down to size too) the DC in, the expansion port, and the expansion pak connector.
This is the PSone screen I bought at EB Games for $29.99, The speakers are connected so I could test it without breaking them out of the case, yet leave the screen in the case, just in case I have to return it

. Some stuff has to go from this too, but I will be keeping the headphones jack and the original buttons from the case, heck, they look good AND they're free. The crappy Sony AV port and the AUX in AV port have to go, as does the power board. Also, that plastic spring clamp and the wire you see there is what I was using to power the sucker, EB Games wouldn't give me one. The reason the battery isn't there (in the spring clamp with the wires attached) is because I needed it to power the camera I used to take the picture.
