I have some questions about making a portable N64, and would love some answers
1) I want to buy these batterys, but how do you charge them? (Batterynoob)
2) Can I use the analoge stick of a 3rd party GC controller?
3) Wtf is the difference between a desoldering iron and a soldering iron? I do soldering and desoldering with the same iron?
4) Is a 15~30 watt soldering iron okay?
2) third party analog sticks vary but some may work. It just has to match the same pot value as the n64 or gamecube joystick
3) a desoldering iron has a pump on it, it sucks up the solder while heating it, it much easier to use
4) thats a good power range.
1: Those batteries look pretty iffy to me. Try getting some off-brand infolithiums, makes charging much simpler.
2: I believe you can, but you'd need a 3rd party N64 controller to do that anyways, so it would be pointless.
3: A soldering iron attaches parts together. A desoldering iron is a soldering iron with a hole in the center and a bulb to suck in solder (i.e. to remove solder). Personally, I think you should just get a nice soldering iron and use a braid or pump.
4: That will work well, but be careful using a 10$ radioshack on SMD ICs.

What does iffy meen exactly? Sory, I'm not English.

Ok, I'll just buy a pump then.

Iffy means it's questionable or doesn't look quite real, 5 batteries like that would cost at least $100, meaning it's probably not real, or a cheap chinese battery, which suck.
Has anyone got a good idea for batterys? I don't want 'em too big, but I want at least 4 hours runtime. My screen is an official PSOne screen, w/o/ the led mod (is it better to do the led mod? And if so, were can I find a good tut?).
That is a expansion for a thing called the Nintendo 64 DD, it was only released in Japan because it was a flawed product. It's a totally useless piece on the board.
Chuck Norris is the only person who is man enough to build a Philips CD-i portable.
