What is that cable called?
Its a cable that has a headphone plug on one side and the cord leads to r/y/w component cables?

you are probably talking about a camcorder AV cable. it has the standard red/white/yellow RCA connectors and a 1/8" jack on the other side, except that the 1/8" jack has 3 separate contacts + ground. if it is for older ipods, i believe that the layout is different than the standard so the cables don't work without modification.
